Palia uses life skills rather than combat classes. Each activity develops separately, and its tools, ingredients and guild recipes connect to other projects. Ranching belongs to the current roster alongside the original eight skills.
Palia’s nine skills
Fishing
Fish and cooking inputsUse a rod; location, time and bait distinguish catches. Save fish required by a recipe or collection before selling them.
Foraging
Wood and wild ingredientsAn axe supplies wood for planks; mushrooms and spices also support cooking. Tool recipes and sawmills turn gathering into construction inputs.
Hunting
Meat and creature materialsA bow and suitable arrows provide hunting materials. Sernuk Hide is a concrete early requirement for a Basic Smelter.
Mining
Ore, bars and building materialsUpgrade the pick to open stronger nodes. Smelting copper, iron and Palium supports later tools, while stone and clay feed brick and ceramic recipes.
Insect Catching
Insects and collection goalsUse a belt and smoke bombs for catching insects. Choose an expedition around the creature’s area and conditions rather than a combat equipment score.
Cooking
Food and FocusCampfires and kitchen stations produce food. Focus adds skill-experience bonuses; an empty bar does not prevent all experience gains.
Furniture Making
Housing and decorationCraft furniture at the Worktable using recipe-specific materials. Reserve the inputs of an actual furnishing project instead of treating every collected item as surplus.
Gardening
Crops and adjacency bonusesHoe soil, plant and water crops. Different neighbouring crop types can share bonuses such as Water Retain; identical crops do not grant that bonus to one another.
Ranching
Animal careFeed and care for ranch animals, with breeding and barn activities in the current skill system. Follow Delaila’s introductions for the ranching progression available to your character.
