Tier list
Elemental Shaman
Mythic+ damageA ranged option for sustained packs and priority damage. Plan casting positions before the pull and choose dungeon-specific totem utility rather than spending every point on throughput.
- Strengths
- Reliable AoE, Purge and adaptable tools such as Poison Cleansing Totem.
- Considerations
- Forced movement outside Spiritwalker’s Grace can interrupt output; two-target cleave is a weaker profile.
Assassination Rogue
Mythic+ damageBuild poison and bleed pressure across the pack while directing meaningful damage into its dangerous enemy. Pulls that survive the application phase reward this approach more than instantly dying trash.
- Strengths
- Priority-target pressure, defensive tools and coordinated Shroud of Concealment routes.
- Considerations
- Damage needs application time; an AoE-oriented talent choice also costs some pure boss output.
Arcane Mage
Mythic+ damageReserve Arcane Surge and the mana cycle for pulls worth the investment. It can focus a priority enemy while contributing nearby damage, but the route must leave room for its burst plan.
- Strengths
- Concentrated burst, priority damage and Time Warp for the group.
- Considerations
- Scattered enemies reduce the AoE value; mistimed cooldowns or depleted mana punish the following pull.
Arms Warrior
Mythic+ damageUse the short Colossus Smash windows to pressure the target that matters while maintaining melee cleave. Pair offensive timing with a planned defensive response to the next unavoidable hit.
- Strengths
- Priority damage, two-target pressure, Rallying Cry and encounter-dependent Spell Reflection.
- Considerations
- Melee access and pre-emptive defensives matter; its tools do not provide unlimited self-recovery.
Retribution Paladin
Mythic+ damageFrequent Wake of Ashes and Avenging Wrath windows fit a succession of dungeon pulls. Plan a useful Blessing or emergency heal alongside damage instead of leaving the support bar untouched.
- Strengths
- Recurring burst, cleave and targeted help through Blessings or Lay on Hands.
- Considerations
- Support must match the mechanic, and protecting a teammate still requires timely target selection.
Outlaw Rogue
Mythic+ damageKeep attacking through repeated smaller packs to exploit the sustained cleave profile. This is a useful contrast to a damage dealer waiting for one major cooldown before each meaningful pull.
- Strengths
- Steady stacked-target pressure with Rogue control and group stealth.
- Considerations
- Very large pulls and a short mandatory burst check can favour other damage profiles.
Feral Druid
Mythic+ damageManage Energy and combo points deliberately, then apply the selected bleed or finishing attack. Primal Wrath gives a concrete multi-target route while Druid utility helps the whole party.
- Strengths
- Bleed-based AoE, Mark of the Wild and Rebirth.
- Considerations
- Talent emphasis changes boss-versus-pack output, and harder incoming damage requires proactive defensive choices.
Windwalker Monk
Mythic+ damageConvert Energy into Chi without wasting resources, then match the hero-talent profile to the pull. Shado-Pan leans toward sustained AoE, while Conduit offers a different burst and cleave emphasis.
- Strengths
- Mobile melee damage plus Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace control.
- Considerations
- Strong damage does not remove its vulnerability to sustained incoming pressure; defensive timing remains important.
Devourer Demon Hunter
Mythic+ damageCollect Soul Fragments to enter Void Metamorphosis and plan its payoff around the next pack. Longer, larger pulls give the transformation and Collapsing Star sequence more room to develop.
- Strengths
- Priority/AoE scaling, Chaos Brand and ranged control through Void Nova.
- Considerations
- Its 25-yard caster range and fragment-driven preparation demand positioning; instant short-burst checks are a different problem.
Beast Mastery Hunter
Mythic+ damageA practical ranged choice when mechanics force constant movement: keep the pet-driven rotation running while relocating. Choose the AoE build for the intended pack size rather than judging it only on a boss.
- Strengths
- Movement-compatible attacks and a useful damage profile on large packs.
- Considerations
- Single-target and priority damage need trade-offs, while persistent incoming damage tests its active defences.
Demonology Warlock
Mythic+ damageBuild resources and summon pressure before expecting the full damage package. Stable pulls let the minion cycle work, while Soulstone and Healthstones add practical recovery tools for the party.
- Strengths
- Minion-based single-target and stacked cleave with Warlock durability.
- Considerations
- Frequent target swaps, dispersed enemies and chaotic movement can break the setup’s flow.
Subtlety Rogue
Mythic+ damagePrepare the target and resources for the short burst window, then direct it into the dangerous mob. Between windows, use Rogue control to reduce the casts that reach the tank.
- Strengths
- On-demand burst, strong personal defences and Kidney Shot/Blind control.
- Considerations
- Damage falls between cooldowns, and two- or three-target encounters are less favourable than its main burst cases.
Frost Death Knight
Mythic+ damageTime direct weapon attacks and short damage windows around a reachable priority target. Death Grip can solve a positioning problem, but its use should agree with the tank’s intended grouping.
- Strengths
- Direct priority attacks, strong personal durability and Anti-Magic Zone.
- Considerations
- Adding AoE talents costs boss output, and its group utility is narrower than its personal survival kit.
Havoc Demon Hunter
Mythic+ damageChoose the hero tree for the job: Fel-Scarred emphasizes burst AoE, while Aldrachi Reaver offers a priority-damage route. Use mobility to maintain safe melee contact rather than dash through avoidable damage.
- Strengths
- Fast melee access, Chaos Brand and adaptable burst or priority pressure.
- Considerations
- Hero-tree selection changes the profile; movement-heavy execution can expose a poorly positioned player.
Enhancement Shaman
Mythic+ damageTurn Maelstrom Weapon procs into well-timed spells while maintaining weapon pressure. Its mixed physical/elemental toolkit can handle a boss inside a pull without abandoning all surrounding damage.
- Strengths
- Flexible cleave with Bloodlust and the Skyfury group buff.
- Considerations
- Proc variation and Ascendance timing change the result; busy melee mechanics can disrupt the priority sequence.
Fury Warrior
Mythic+ damageGenerate Rage and spend it through Rampage to maintain the Enrage loop. The steady pressure fits chained packs, provided that the Warrior can remain in contact instead of repeatedly rebuilding after downtime.
- Strengths
- Repeatable melee cleave, mobility and Rallying Cry support.
- Considerations
- A high-action rotation rewards uptime; long disengagements and isolated priority checks reduce its appeal.
Balance Druid
Mythic+ damagePlan Eclipse uptime and Astral Power around the pull’s shape. Its ranged multi-target pressure is useful alongside Solar Beam and Soothe, so assign those tools before the dangerous caster or enrage appears.
- Strengths
- Broad multi-target coverage, caster control and Mark of the Wild.
- Considerations
- Short-lived targets or forced casting interruptions can waste preparation and the intended Eclipse window.
Unholy Death Knight
Mythic+ damageMaintain diseases and summoned pressure while aligning the larger undead window with a meaningful pull. Its ability to contribute from some distance helps when a mechanic temporarily prevents normal melee contact.
- Strengths
- Durable damage dealer with pet/disease pressure, Death Grip and Anti-Magic Zone.
- Considerations
- Changing targets requires pet movement and disease setup; planning remains necessary despite good personal defences.
Survival Hunter
Mythic+ damageUse the flexible melee kit to cover both a priority target and a nearby pack. Its shorter damage cadence works with regular pulls, while the ability to contribute at range helps bridge brief disengagements.
- Strengths
- Balanced boss/pack damage without demanding a completely separate loadout for each.
- Considerations
- It lacks a dominant mass-pull niche, and repeated unavoidable damage still requires careful active defence.
Marksmanship Hunter
Mythic+ damagePlace Aimed Shot casts where movement will not cut them short, then use the ranged burst on the intended target group. Its smaller-target cleave should not be mistaken for unlimited mass-pull scaling.
- Strengths
- Ranged burst and strong pressure on a small number of targets.
- Considerations
- The current eight-target limit constrains oversized pulls; casting windows and active defences need planning.
Shadow Priest
Mythic+ damageKeep DoTs running and select the hero-tree emphasis deliberately: Archon favours sustained windows, while Voidweaver builds Entropic Rift bursts. Coordinate Power Infusion instead of treating it as an automatic self-only button.
- Strengths
- Spread-target damage, Power Infusion, Silence and Vampiric Embrace support.
- Considerations
- Constant movement and rapidly dying packs can deny the sustained casting and DoT time the setup needs.
Affliction Warlock
Mythic+ damageApply periodic effects where they can persist and adjust resource spending as target count changes. This offers a useful route for spread enemies instead of requiring every damage effect to remain on one ground location.
- Strengths
- Flexible sustained pressure plus Soulstone, Healthstones and curse utility.
- Considerations
- The talent path still trades single-target emphasis against AoE; applying effects to dying targets wastes actions.
Destruction Warlock
Mythic+ damageSet a casting position that lets the tank’s pull remain in range, then use the chosen shard spenders and cleave tools. Its flatter profile can tolerate changing pull timing better than a single-window specialist.
- Strengths
- Large-pull scaling, target-switch options and Havoc cleave.
- Considerations
- Extended movement interrupts the turret-like casting pattern; utility does not compensate for repeatedly abandoned casts.
Frost Mage
Mythic+ damageUse roots and slows to manage space while keeping damage steady between pulls. Plan a safe Ray of Frost window and retain movement tools for the mechanic that would otherwise interrupt it.
- Strengths
- Reliable mixed-target output with slows, control and Remove Curse.
- Considerations
- Ray of Frost is vulnerable to forced movement, and top-end incoming damage can strain the reduced defensive kit.
Devastation Evoker
Mythic+ damageSet empower levels and positioning for a compact pack while retaining meaningful boss damage. Hover supports mobile casts, but the shorter range still asks the player to follow the tank’s route closely.
- Strengths
- Useful low-target cleave, empowered attacks and casting mobility.
- Considerations
- Mass AoE asks for substantial trade-offs, and a 25-yard range leaves less positioning margin than long-range casters.
Fire Mage
Mythic+ damageUse Hot Streak and movement-compatible casts to preserve pressure while handling mechanics. Stacked enemies make the cleave plan work; route coordination matters more than simply pressing a cooldown on arrival.
- Strengths
- Mobile damage, stacked cleave, Arcane Intellect and Time Warp.
- Considerations
- The snapshot’s tuning limits raw output, and difficult damage events require prepared defensives and healer coordination.
Augmentation Evoker
Mythic+ damageAlign ally buffs with the teammates who can use the next damage window. Evaluate the contribution through the group’s result and useful utility, rather than comparing its personal meter directly with a conventional DPS.
- Strengths
- Party amplification, Upheaval control and bleed removal through Cauterizing Flame.
- Considerations
- Buff value depends on teammate output and timing, while the short support range requires the party to remain reachable.
