FINAL FANTASY XIV: Level 50 Warrior tank: Ironworks gear and complete ARR combat kit

FINAL FANTASY XIV: Exact level 50 Warrior equipment, unique-ring solution, stance, single-target and pack sequences, gauge spending and defensive tools.

Story unlocks, job quests and level-synced duties shape progression. A job is a complete combat kit, not a talent tree to freely mix with other jobs.

OPMetaBuildReviewed 2026-10-17Detailed configuration

This is a fully specified level-50 tank setup for revisiting ARR content or progressing a first Warrior through that bracket. It avoids listing level-100 abilities that disappear when synced. The second ring is a crafted Platinum Ring of Fending because the unique Augmented Ironworks ring cannot simply be equipped twice.

Activity
Level 50 ARR dungeons and ordinary trials
Edition / reference
Live 7.56 job actions checked 17 October 2026, restricted to the level-50 toolkit. Ironworks is a deliberate ARR gear snapshot, not current level-100 BiS.

Configuration and exact selections

Weapon
Augmented Ironworks Magitek Axe

Level-50 axe baseline, item level 130.

Head and body
Augmented Ironworks Helm of Fending; Augmented Ironworks Armor of Fending

Tank equipment, not Slaying armour.

Hands, legs and feet
Augmented Ironworks Gauntlets of Fending; Augmented Ironworks Breeches of Fending; Augmented Ironworks Sabatons of Fending

Complete the matching level-50 defensive armour.

Ear, neck and wrist
Augmented Ironworks Earrings of Fending; Augmented Ironworks Choker of Fending; Augmented Ironworks Bracelet of Fending

Keep the tank accessory category.

Rings
Augmented Ironworks Ring of Fending; Platinum Ring of Fending (HQ)

Two different named rings avoid the unique-item conflict.

Tank stance and pull
Defiance; Tomahawk; Provoke

Stance for threat; ranged pull and deliberate target recovery.

Single-target combo
Heavy Swing → Maim → Storm’s Eye / Storm’s Path

Eye maintains the damage buff; Path is the alternate combo end.

Pack combo
Overpower → Mythril Tempest

Use on gathered enemies; do not assume later gauge traits are already unlocked.

Gauge and burst
Infuriate; Inner Beast; Steel Cyclone; Berserk

Infuriate supplies gauge; spend on the single-target or area option.

Defensives
Rampart; Vengeance; Thrill of Battle; Reprisal; Arm’s Length; Holmgang

Plan tools through the pull rather than pressing them all together.

Interrupt and control
Interject; Low Blow

Interrupt eligible casts or stun susceptible enemies.

How to use this setup

  1. Enable Defiance. Pull with Tomahawk, gather the pack and establish area threat with Overpower → Mythril Tempest.
  2. Against a single target, use Heavy Swing → Maim → Storm’s Eye to establish the damage buff, then alternate the appropriate combo finish.
  3. Use Infuriate for gauge. Spend with Inner Beast on one enemy or Steel Cyclone on a pack; pair Berserk with a period when attacks can land.
  4. Rotate Rampart or Vengeance through sustained incoming damage. Use Reprisal for the planned group window; reserve Holmgang for a recognised lethal situation.

Priorities and progression

  • Strength and Vitality on usable tank equipment; item level is capped by the selected duty’s sync.
  • Do not buy materia to pursue a level-100 best-in-slot speed target for this level-50 activity.
  • Below level 50, remove unavailable skills instead of assuming they remain usable after sync.

A real synced loadout has a smaller toolkit

A higher-level Warrior can bring stronger-looking equipment into an old duty, but the duty can reduce both item attributes and action access. This plan names the abilities that exist at the target bracket. It deliberately omits Bloodwhetting, Primal Rend and level-100 burst actions. Use the tank tools already available instead of waiting for a defensive button that the duty has removed.

Requirements and scope

Warrior level 50 with its job quests completed, level-50 duties. The gear is obtainable ARR equipment; this is not a current Savage or Ultimate best-in-slot set.
