Tibia rewards preparation before a hunt as much as decisions during it. Your level alone does not describe your character’s strength. Start with a world you understand, organise your healing and escape controls, then practise a short hunting route that you can leave safely.
Pick the world before the hunting route
Check the region, connection quality and PvP category when creating your character. Optional PvP, Open PvP and other rulesets do not offer identical player-combat conditions. For a first session, favour a stable connection and a community whose language you understand. A famous hunting location is less useful if reaching it exposes you to rules you have not learned.
Build around the vocation’s actual tools
The official roster includes Knight, Paladin, Sorcerer, Druid and Monk. Read your vocation’s available attacks and recovery tools rather than copying another vocation’s hotkeys. Separate the repeatable attack, emergency healing and movement or escape actions. Test each key while standing safely. A familiar control layout is worth more than purchasing equipment whose requirements you cannot yet meet.
Reserve capacity for the return journey
Pack healing, mana recovery and any ammunition or runes your chosen attack consumes. Carry capacity is part of the plan: excessive loot competes with your remaining supplies. Decide a return threshold before entering the spawn, and keep a reserve for unexpected enemies on the way out. Compare the cost of a full refill with your available money before buying an expensive upgrade.
Learn one small loop before expanding
Begin close to a known exit and observe how many creatures approach together. Check enemy damage and resistance information before committing to a damage type. Avoid entering unexplored stairs or narrow spaces while already surrounded. Repeat a small loop until you can heal, attack and retreat without searching the interface; only then increase the number of enemies or extend the route.
Understand death protection before risking equipment
Read your character’s blessing status and the world’s death rules before carrying valuables. Blessings, skull status and PvP protection interact; no single item should be treated as universal protection. Learn where your temple, depot and supply shop are located. Keep replacement essentials accessible, so an unsuccessful hunt does not force you to sell the equipment needed to recover.
Compare your own hunts with the same conditions
Record the route, session length, supplies spent and loot you can actually sell. Compare runs made with similar skills and equipment instead of copying another player’s advertised experience rate. If potion use rises sharply, identify the extra enemy or missed heal before spending more. Your next upgrade should solve that observed problem, whether it is damage, recovery, capacity or safer movement.
Before your next session
- Check the world’s PvP rules and blessing status.
- Test attack and emergency-heal hotkeys.
- Keep supplies and capacity for the return.
- Review one complete hunt before changing equipment.
