A fully named baseline for the ordinary T5 Assault Cruiser. It deliberately uses generic Mk XII equipment and two mission item groups rather than requiring the reference build’s later reputation inventory, traits or recorded DPS.
- Activity
- Level-appropriate T5 cruiser PvE and mission progression
- Edition / reference
- PC STO baseline layout, mechanics reviewed October 2026; original simplified layout, not a copy of the reference author’s parsed build.
- Named choices
- 17

Three engineering seat selections.
- Lieutenant Tactical seat
- Beam Overload I / Attack Pattern Beta I
A single primary firing mode with the debuff.
- Ensign Tactical seat
- Tactical Team I
The extra tactical seat’s named choice.
- Lieutenant Science seat
- Hazard Emitters I / Photonic Officer I
Recovery and a budget cooldown tool.
- Base power allocation
- Weapons 100 / Shields 50 / Engines 25 / Auxiliary 25
A 200-point starting allocation before bonuses.
How to use this setup
- Equip the eight weapons and nine consoles in their stated slots; set base weapon power to 100.
- Activate Emergency Power to Weapons, Photonic Officer and the appropriate tactical tools before the firing window.
- Face the target briefly to fire the fore Quantum Phase Torpedo, then angle into the overlapping beam broadside.
- Use Beam Overload with the phaser arrays; keep Attack Pattern Beta available on the selected target.
- Use Hazard Emitters, Engineering Team or Reverse Shield Polarity for the matching recovery problem; reposition rather than remaining in an unsafe arc.
Priorities and progression
- Main energy type: Phaser; main firing mode: Beam Overload.
- Eight weapon slots, four engineering consoles, two science consoles and three tactical consoles are explicitly filled.
- Raise weapon mark and useful cooldown/energy support before treating critical modifiers as the entire build.
How the selected kit works
The torpedo and broadside require different facing angles, so the sequence includes a brief nose-on shot followed by the beam overlap. Photonic Officer I is the selected low-cost cooldown aid; it does not promise perfect minimum cooldowns. This layout also avoids pairing a Fire at Will rotation with Beam Overload equipment instructions. Career abilities, reputation traits and optional devices can be added after the hull’s core slots are correct.
