Before choosing a build
In Baldur’s Gate 3, a build belongs to a party. Think about who can reach enemies, handle dialogue, heal or prevent damage, and solve exploration problems. A strong individual turn is less useful if it leaves three companions unable to act safely. Read action and bonus-action costs before combining abilities.
Your progression checklist
- Check weapon and armour proficiency.
- Plan movement before spending your action.
- Inspect advantage, disadvantage and hit chance.
- Rest to recover resources instead of carrying an unusable skill bar into the next fight.
A focused practice exercise
Before an encounter, inspect where each companion will stand and which actions can support the first turn. After the fight, identify one wasted movement or action. Repositioning a party member can be more useful than replacing equipment. Save a separate game before experimenting with an unfamiliar interaction that affects your campaign.
