Before choosing a build
Choose a weapon by the decisions you enjoy making, not only a damage ranking. Training-area practice helps with input, but a real hunt adds movement, targeting and resource management. Start with a familiar weapon and a durable set. Add offensive complexity after you can recognise and use an opening.
Your progression checklist
- Practise sheathing, movement and a short punish sequence.
- Check sharpness and supplies before leaving.
- Inspect the monster’s movement before committing to a full charge.
- Change one part of the setup so you can understand the result.
A focused practice exercise
Use the training area to learn a short sequence you can end safely. In the next hunt, focus on landing that sequence after one recognisable monster move. Do not chase the largest possible charge on every opening. Review missed attacks and unsafe recovery before deciding that your weapon needs a stronger set.
