Before choosing a build
Separate campaign progression from an expensive endgame build. A plan that only functions after several specific purchases may be a poor first character. Before spending currency, check what the main attack scales with, which supports are legal, and which defensive requirements you are missing.
Your progression checklist
- Confirm the guide matches Path of Exile 2 rather than the first game.
- Check skill and support requirements inside the current client.
- Inspect the reason for a death instead of adding damage automatically.
- Keep enough currency to fix an unexpected equipment problem.
A focused practice exercise
Pick an area you already know and compare two weapons with the same skill and supports. Look at resource use and how many attacks you need, not just the largest damage number. Then repeat after restoring the safer defensive item you removed. A useful upgrade improves the complete encounter rather than a single hit.
