A counter-oriented sword configuration for learning attacks while retaining a concrete damage loop. Fiona’s defensive inputs create attack opportunities, but a long commitment still needs a safe opening and the raid’s actual entry statistics.

Reserve SP for a suitable damage window.
- Sword passive
- Shield Enhancement
It is passive and activates at combat start with Longsword under the April 2026 changes.
- Defensive shortcut
- Iron Defense
Use the regular skill shortcut; it is no longer the old Active: Iron Defense.
- Additional defence
- Shield Deflection + Dodge
Keep both available for the actual attack pattern.
How to use this setup
- Equip Longsword and Small Shield; assign Focal Point, Shield Bash, Slashing High and Iron Defense shortcuts.
- Watch the boss wind-up, use Guard for a suitable blockable hit, then Counterattack when the recovery allows it.
- During a clear opening, complete the normal-attack chain into Amaranth Kick; abandon the chain if the next dangerous attack arrives first.
- Use Focal Point and Shield Bash when their SP and cooldown conditions fit, and Slashing High for a sustained opening.
- Use Shield Deflection or Dodge for the attack’s actual defensive requirement; keep enough stamina to leave an unsafe position.
Priorities and progression
- Fiona uses physical ATT, not M. ATT; inspect the actual raid’s ATT, Critical, Balance and defensive entry requirements.
- Improve Guard, Counterattack and Amaranth Kick alongside core mastery training rather than spending all AP on one optional active.
- Attack Speed affects the feel of the action windows; no single critical or Balance target fits every boss and progression tier.
- The current Iron Defense is not the historical 75% damage-reduction button, and Shield Enhancement is not a Longsword active to recast.
How the selected kit works
The sword/shield choice is reproducible before choosing an expensive endgame item set. Counterattack rewards matching the defensive input to the boss’s attack, while Amaranth Kick and the listed SP actions spend the resulting opening. April 2026 changed important parts of this kit: Shield Enhancement became passive for Longsword, Iron Defense became a regular skill, and Rose Thorns was removed. Keeping those distinctions prevents a returning player from searching for actions that no longer behave like an old guide.
